Boatshed sails into Lincolnshire.....

Boatshed, the international yacht broker, has increased its UK footprint with the opening of a boat sales operation in Lincolnshire.
Running the new office is John Chambers, who is also a partner in Grimsby-based Farrow & Chambers yacht builders, a company well known for building quality wooden boats - particularly competitive racing yachts.
Farrow & Chambers have been building wooden boats for over 30 years with many famous examples such as Andrew Bray's "Firefly".
John’s partner in Boatshed Lincolnshire is Roman Purek, who has an engineering and management background. As well as being business partners, the pair race together on Magnum, an SJ 35.
Chambers believes there is untapped potential for used boat sales in the Lincolnshire region. He said: ‘We’re already seeing strong demand for good used boats across all genres – power and sail, small and large. Because of the weakness in sterling, we have seen a surge in interest from overseas buyers – particularly at the quality end of the market – which is good news for UK sellers.’
Boatshed Lincolnshire will cover a wide geographical area, taking in Grimsby Marinas, The Humber Waterway, Hull and Cleethorpes.
According to Chambers, the local economy has started to move in the right direction. He continued: ‘I think people realise that it makes good economic sense to buy and keep a boat in these waters. There are some great areas for boating – and of course mooring fees cost much less than on the south coast.’
Now with almost 60 offices worldwide, Boatshed has been growing steadily since its inception in 1998. CEO and founder, Neil Chapman, believes that a Lincolnshire operation will plugs an interesting gap in Boatshed’s portfolio of businesses. He said: ‘Whilst the global economy is still in the doldrums, there’s always a market for well priced, well looked after, used boats. In fact, when times are tough, buying an older boat makes far more sense than buying new, and savvy buyers have started to take this on board.’
The new office is based in Grimsby.
